December 2011 Trail Run

We return to one of our most popular routes, Wunderlich Park in Woodside, for our December Trail Run. While the forecast is for excellent clear running weather on Sunday, Wunderlich's trails are 99% protected from the elements (wind, rain, mud, ...) making this an ideal winter run venue. Also, Wunderlich is close to Palo Alto and the intermediate route is shorter than our usual making this a good choice for beginning trail runners.

This month, instead of our usual runner's pot luck, we will meet after the run at Buck's in Woodside and hope that you can join us there at 10:30. So that we all finish our run and are ready to head over to Buck's at about the same time, this month the intermediate run starts a half-hour after the long run.

If you've never been to Buck's, its a slice of Silicon Valley history and well worth taking in. Buck's is a short drive from the trail head.
WhenSunday, December 4, 2011. Long run meets at 8:20am for an 8:30am start. Intermediate run meets at 9:00am for a 9:10am start.

Carpools are encouraged, but as Wunderlich is close by, we are not setting up an official car pool for this run.

Buck's, 3062 Woodside Road, Woodside.
How to get there Take 280 North to Woodside Road (Highway 84). Continue West on Woodside Road thru the small business district, past the school, and around the bend to the South. About 3 miles after leaving 280, the park entrance is on the right hand side. Pls be extra cautious when driving thru Woodside as there are a lot of bicycle riders on the roads and Woodside police may be strictly enforcing traffic laws ...

What A long (about 10.2 miles, 2000 feet vertical) and an intermediate run (about 4.7 miles, 800 feet vertical). This is a remote trail run and each runner must carry at least one water bottle. To avoid having to search for lost runners, we will stay together in groups of approximately the same running abilities and distance interests.
