Huddart County Park
Saturday, February 11, 2012
We return to one of our favorite local trail systems to enjoy the Redwood & fern lined creek side trails as well as the climb to the ridge top for those running long. We are going in by a little used trail access that many of you may not know of. This access features less driving and avoids the hassle and expense of using the park's main entrance. Even if our currently perfect running weather doesn't hold, Huddart's trails are exceptionally well maintained with some trails even sporting a new all weather surface.
When Saturday, February 11, 2012. Meet at 8:20am for an 8:30am start. As Huddart is close by, no official carpool this month.
Where We will gather just north of the Runnymede/Raymundo intersection in Woodside. Park along the west side of Runnymede where there is plenty of usually empty street side parking (park parallel and off the pavement). Here is a Google map of the parking & gathering area - http://g.co/maps/gqy44.
How to get there From 280, Woodside Rd West into the town of Woodside about a mile. At the stop sign, turn right (North) onto Cañada. 1.3 miles later, just before going under 280, take a left on Runnymede. Another .5 miles to the end of Runnymede to the parking and gathering area.
What A long run (about 11 miles) and an intermediate run (about 7 miles). These are remote trail runs and each runner must carry at least one water bottle. We also request that runners group up with runners of like ability.
No potluck this month. Instead we will meet for brunch at Buck's after the run.
